Who's collecting your information

DisputeX Pty Ltd (ABN 81 699 300 260) collects the personal information you provide when you run a market value check. You can contact us at support@disputex.com.au or through our contact page.

What we collect, and how

Directly from you: your state and type of cover, your insurer's name and offer, the date of loss, your car's details and kilometres, your accessories and comparable cars, and the documents, listing screenshots and invoices you upload. Your name, claim number and email are optional.

Uploaded documents can contain more than we need, such as your address or policy number. We only use the details needed for your check. Please crop out other people's details, such as a seller's name or phone number, before uploading a listing screenshot.

From others: Stripe tells us whether your payment succeeded and the email used. Our analytics tools collect information about how you use the site, but never what you type or upload in your check.

Why we collect it

To run your check, read your documents (using automated tools, including an artificial intelligence service, with everything shown to you to confirm), calculate the result and prepare your report. If you give us your email, we use it to send your report and tax invoice, one reminder before an unpaid draft is deleted, and, after you pay, a short follow-up asking what your insurer did, which you can stop at any time.

We also use information to keep the site secure, to keep the records tax law requires, and, in anonymous form, to understand and improve the service.

If you don't provide it

We can't calculate a result without your insurer's offer, your car's details and kilometres, and at least one comparable car for sale in your state. You don't have to give your name, claim number or email: without an email we can't send you your report or a reminder. Your check is saved in the browser you used, so keep its private link if you'd like to open it elsewhere.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers who help us run DisputeX, and only what they need:

  • Vercel (website hosting)
  • Amazon Web Services and Neon (file and database storage in Sydney)
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Resend (email)
  • Anthropic (reading documents and screenshots)
  • Google and Microsoft (site analytics)

Some of these providers are based in, or may process information in, the United States and other countries. We also share information where the law requires it. We never share your information with your insurer, and we never sell it. You decide whether to send anyone your report.

How long we keep it

Unpaid drafts and their uploads are deleted automatically 24 hours after you start, at the time shown on screen. Paid reports are kept for 12 months after payment, then deleted. You can delete your check and its files at any time from your private link. After deletion we keep only an anonymous record, as described in our privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

Our privacy policy explains how to access or correct your information, how to ask us to delete it, how to make a privacy complaint and how we'll deal with it, and how to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
