Car written off? See if it's worth more than the insurer offered.
Insurers use valuation tools to set their offer. In about 10 minutes, check it the same way against real cars for sale in your state, then send them the evidence.
Free to check. See your result first, then $49 for the full report if you want it.

Why check
What changes a written-off car's market value
A market value is only as good as the cars it's compared with. These details most often make one valuation differ from another, and your check covers every one.
The exact variant
An SR5 isn't an SR, and a GXL isn't a GX. Comparing a different variant or badge changes the price.
We match year, make, model and variant
Kilometres
A car with fewer kilometres is usually worth more. The comparables' average kilometres are compared with your car's.

Where the cars are for sale
Listings from other states, and cars with damage or write-off history, aren't a like-for-like comparison.
Listings from your state only, no damaged cars
Your accessories
A bull bar, tow bar or canopy can add value. We count what it's worth today, not what you paid.
An invoice or a listing for each item
How it works
Four steps, about 10 minutes
On any phone or computer. Your progress saves as you go.
- 1
Quick questions
Three taps: your state, your cover and whether the car's written off.
- 2
Your claim and car
Your insurer, their offer and your car's details, on one page. They're on your insurer's letter and rego papers.
- 3
Comparable cars
We open the searches for you. Add three cars for sale in your state, by screenshot or link.
- 4
Accessories, if any
Add an invoice, or a listing for the same item if you've lost it.
Then
- See your result straight away, before you pay anything.
- Send the report to your insurer and ask them to review their offer.
- Not resolved? Insurers must have a complaints process, and AFCA is a free, independent service.
Nothing to prepare
Your insurer's offer
Just the amount they've told you. We'll ask for it as you go.
Their letter and your rego papers
To copy a few details across: the insurer, claim number and your car's variant.
Accessory invoices, if you have them
Optional. A listing for the same item works too.
No listings to find first. We open the searches for you.

From people who've used DisputeX
“My insurer gave me a value of $10,000 after the cars total loss, the assessor used delisted advertisements and didn't give me a clear way to check it myself - found this service and was able to increase the value to $16,000 unfortunately the assessor didn't want a bar of it and after lodging a complaint within a couple days the complaints team agreed and we are now settling, thank you.”

How much does it cost?
Checking is free. You see whether our valuation is higher than your insurer's, or in line with it, before you pay anything. The full report is $49, a one-off payment with no subscription. If our valuation is in line with your insurer's, the report is optional.
Is this legal advice?
No. DisputeX is a document preparation service: it prepares a report from the information and listings you provide. It isn't legal or financial advice, a recommendation about your claim or an opinion on it. What you do with the report is up to you. If you need advice about your situation, speak to a lawyer or a free community legal centre.
Do you contact my insurer?
No. We never contact your insurer, act for you or receive replies. You send the report to your insurer yourself. It's written for them to read, so you can attach it as it is.
Will I get more money?
We can't say, and nobody can promise that. The report shows the numbers and the method behind them, so you and your insurer can look at the same evidence. Your insurer decides whether to change its offer.
I'm not insured. Can I still use it?
Yes, if the other driver's insurer has assessed your car as written off and made you an offer. Those offers are usually based on what your car was worth just before the accident, so the check works the same way. Choose "Not insured" when you start.
Not sure about your offer?
Check it in about 10 minutes. See your result free, then $49 for the report if you want it.
